The poems in this collection have been captured at a weekly poetry and art group held in Corbenic Camphill Community, near Dunkeld in Perthshire, a care home for adults with learning disabilities. In that group, a space has been created to allow poems to emerge from enthusiastic poets, many of whom cannot read or write, and a few with limited verbal communication. This anthology is entitled Shout for a good reason - the voices you hear in these poems are shouting through not in anger or frustration; instead, they shout for joy in all its many colours. To shout is to say 'I am alive' and these poems are unquestionably alive. |
